Wow! Bombshell!
The email hit my inbox with an almost discernable “THUD” sound, and I read it in stunned silence – saddened by what I read, but also a bit pleased.
Dancing without a care in the world!
I’m kinda a spontaneous guy at times (yeah – I have to control things sometimes) and I have to admit that there are times where I will find myself just doing silly jigs at the most weird of times and in the weirdest places.
It’s something that people around me can find (delete as applicable – or not!)
a) embarrassing
b) disturbing
c) cringeworthy
d) a laugh
e) worrying
and probably alot more besides!
Christmas comes early…
This weekend we took advantage of the generous Birthday and Christmas presents for 2008 from my brother – both Mrs H and I went to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix (along with my bro and the missuses sister)
The summary of the weekend – Sunburn and Hypothermia… rolled into one… but huge grins through the tiredness that results!
Yup – the British summer well and truly reared it’s head at the weekend with Friday being roasting hot and us all catching a bit too much sun, Saturday being wet in the morning but OK-ish in the afternoon, and Sunday being a soaking, freezing day which was *really* uncomfortable at points.
Always remembering…
I originally blogged about this a couple of weeks ago, but ScribeFire had a useful bug that wiped the content from your posts (useful blogging tool there!) – they reckon it’s fixed now so I’ll try again 🙂
The other week was another round of baptisms at KingsGate, and the first to take place since Mrs H got dunked and I turned myself around again.
To say I was emotional during the service would be an understatement of grand proportions. The memories of my wifes dunking, and the realisation of all the changes that had taken place in my life in the past couple of months, totally washed over me and I found myself dumbstruck as I stood in complete and utter awe of what God has done.
Economic slowdown – for sure!
I have to give a wry, pained, laugh when I hear people saying that we are not heading for recession and that the economy is going to bounce back quickly – although admittedly a lot of commentators seem to NOT be saying that now.
I know 4 people, all of whom are heading (or are already there) for unemployment… unskilled? nope, small companies? certainly not for 3 of them, “luxury” industries? definitely not.
